This sections focuses on some cataloging problems discussed during a meeting by the Standards Committee of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries and the American Library Association, in 1986. The committee will review the Thesaurus of Terms for two-dimensional works, compiled by Elisabeth Betz Parker of the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress. Next the group discussed the changes in subdivisions and subdivision practices of the subject Division of the Library of Congress. The next issue discussed dealt with geographical subject headings for private collections. |
