This article comments on the changes and challenges faced by "The Canadian Journal of Psychiatry". The published issues in the Journal reflected what was happening in psychiatry and in society as a whole. In particular, the demand to increase performance is creating an atmosphere of increased tension and anxiety. On the other hand, the advent of new medications with fewer immediate side effects virtually requires the use of community treatment orders in serious mental illness. |
