This article reports on bombings that occurred in Amman, Jordon in Nov. 2005 perpetrated by Abu Mousab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian who runs al-Qaeda's operations in Iraq. Just before 9 p.m. a man detonated a suicide belt he was wearing at the Radisson SAS Hotel. Other bombers struck the Grand Hyatt Hotel and the Days Inn, leaving 57 people dead all told. Al-Zarqawi took responsibility for the attacks and claimed the targets were chosen because they are frequented by foreigners en route to Iraq. |
