Abstrakt: The article discusses the impact of the stock market collapse on the efficient market theory (EMT) that happened on October 19, 1987 which crushed more than $500 billion in investor wealth in the U.S. Researcher Robert Shiller revealed that investors panicked and sold their stocks because they believed that the price drops were caused by the crash. The author inferred that the signs of EMTs failure began showing up in the stock market even before the collapse.
