| Abstrakt: | This article presents information on Sceletium shrub from the Mesembryanthemoideae family. It is a prostrate, decumbent, or rarely erect small shrub with fibrous roots, often scrambling in other bushes. The leaves are flat, ovate, decussate and shortly connate at the base or becoming alternate in the inflorescence. The most striking feature of Sceletium is the skeleton-like appearance of the dry leaves enclosing and protecting the young buds during the dry season. |
