Abstrakt: This article focuses on the extradition case against Van Duc Vo, a member of the self-declared Government of Free Vietnam (GFVN), a group of exiles working to overthrow the Vietnam regime from their unlikely base in Garden Grove. Vo joined the GFVN and changed his name from Trang Van Nguyen to Van Duc Vo, both to reflect his Buddhist ideals and to throw off the Vietnamese secret agents he assumed would be looking for him. Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles, California, booked Vo for conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction but dropped their case when the Thai government moved for him to be extradited to stand trial in their country.
