The article reports that overseas phone call cost may drop because of the emerging telecommunication industries in the U.S. Four companies are intending to launch private satellites to carry transatlantic traffic, and two others to lay undersea optical fiber cables. The International Telecommunications Satellite Organization has been monopolizing the U.S. international satellite traffic but the emergence of telecommunication industries will produce tougher competition and better price option. |
