Abstrakt: Thermodynamic analysis is used to identify the possible chemical reactions in the ZnSe-ZnTe-Se-H2-C system. The results suggest that one very likely process in this system during ZnSe〈Te〉 synthesis is the formation of fine, fullerene-like particles of hydrided soot, which will persist during the crystal growth of ZnSe〈 Te〉 and may have a significant effect on the physical, optical, and physicochemical properties of the crystals.
