The article focuses on the electron cyclotron heating system on the "Tokamak à Configuration Variable" (TCV). It is composed of six 0.45MW, 82.7GHz, 2s. pulse length gyrotrons for second harmonic X-mode heating. The third harmonic X-mode heating (X3) launcher is composed by a single elliptical mirror made of copper with a focal length of 700 mm. To maximize the X3 absorption during a plasma discharge taking into account the temperature and density dynamics, a real-time feedback control on the launcher poloidal angle has been developed and installed on TCV. |
