Abstrakt: A recent study from Wayne State University explores the relationship between perceived safety, threat sensitivity, and anxiety symptoms in adolescents from urban communities, specifically Detroit, Michigan. The research suggests that perceived safety is associated with lower anxiety levels, and threat sensitivity mediates the link between perceived safety and anxiety symptoms. These findings highlight the potential protective role of perceived safety and the importance of addressing threat sensitivity in adolescents with violence exposure. The study was supported by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Psychiatry of Behavioral Neurosciences at Wayne State University School of Medicine. [Extracted from the article]
