Researchers from the University of East London conducted a study on the motivations behind the consumption of Image and Performance Enhancement Drugs (IPEDs) among men. The research found that societal ideals of the masculine body, as portrayed in media and online, are increasingly sexualized, leading to body image concerns and influencing the use of IPEDs. The study emphasizes the importance of recognizing masculinities in developing harm reduction strategies and educational resources related to IPEDs.
