Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at the University of Leeds focused on patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and heart failure (HF) to assess the prevalence of silent ischemic heart disease (IHD) and coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD). The research utilized cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) to quantify these conditions and found that patients with DM and HF had a higher prevalence of silent IHD, evidence of CMD, and worse cardiovascular outcomes compared to non-diabetic patients with HF. The study highlights the potential value of CMR in assessing these conditions in patients with DM and HF. [Extracted from the article] |
