A study conducted by researchers at Islamic Azad University in Iran explored the potential benefits of Omega-3 and CoQ10 supplements in improving periodontal health in individuals with chronic periodontitis. The study involved a double-blind, randomized clinical trial with 75 participants who underwent non-surgical periodontal treatments. Results showed that the Omega-3 group exhibited a notable reduction in inflammation and significant improvements in bleeding on probing compared to the CoQ10 and control groups. The findings suggest that Omega-3 and CoQ10 supplementation may have therapeutic effects on periodontal health and the antioxidant capacity of saliva. [Extracted from the article] |
