Abstrakt: Aim. The survey was aimed at finding out the socio-economic factors determining the desire to have children and the attitude of Poles towards this topic. Material and methods. The survey, conducted in 2023, involved 735 Poles of reproductive age. The CAWI method was used to collect responses. Results. The most numerous group among the respondents were people between the ages of 18 and 25. The majority of respondents were women, people with secondary or higher education, and living in cities. A significant correlation was found between financial situation and reproductive plans. Those people who have income high enough to save money are the most likely to declare a desire to have children. The survey found a significant relationship between housing situation and desire to have children. Owning a house and being able to maintain work-life balance also influence procreation plans. Intimate relationship status had a significant impact on the desire to start a family. Respondents in informal relationships showed the highest desire to have children. Conclusions. The most important factor determining the procreation plans of Poles is a stable source of income. Social programs offered by the state are considered the least influential factor inmaking a decision to have children. Surveys conducted among groups of Poles confirm these results.
