The article in the journal "Allergy" discusses the assessment of sIgE to rLep d 2 for detecting Lepidoglyphus destructor sensitization in patients with respiratory allergies. The study found a high correlation between sIgE to rLep d 2 and L. destructor, with good sensitivity (71.64%) and excellent specificity (96.43%). However, the diagnostic value of rLep d 2 compared to skin prick tests and specific IgE tests for L. destructor allergies is minimal. The authors recommend using sIgE against Lep d 2 cautiously in diagnosing L. destructor allergies and suggest further research on its diagnostic utility. [Extracted from the article] |
