Abstrakt: Researchers from the College of Nursing and Midwifery conducted a study in Ghana to identify factors contributing to late initiation of antenatal care (ANC) among pregnant women in the Jasikan District. The study found that age, number of children, seeking advice from women leaders, feeling poorly received at ANC, and spending over six hours during ANC visits were predictors of late ANC initiation. The research concluded that interventions addressing social and cultural factors, negative perceptions of ANC, and long waiting times at health facilities are needed to improve early initiation of ANC in Ghana.
