A recent study conducted by researchers at Indiana University School of Medicine focused on the development of a controlled-release mosquito RNAi yeast larvicide for the sustained control of large water storage containers. The research aimed to address concerns related to insecticide resistance and larvicide safety in treating Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, the primary vector for dengue and other arboviral pathogens. The study successfully demonstrated the effectiveness of the yeast larvicide in both small and large water containers, with potential for integration into mosquito control programs globally.
