A study conducted at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria focused on the awareness, knowledge, attitude, and practices of diabetes mellitus among Nigerian undergraduates. Despite high awareness of diabetes, the study found that a majority of participants had poor knowledge, negative attitudes, and inadequate practices towards diabetes and self-care. The researchers recommended continuous education programs on diabetes and diabetic self-care for students to improve their understanding and management of the disease. [Extracted from the article] |
