A study conducted at Juarez Hospital in Mexico explored the prognostic role of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with alcoholic hepatitis. The research found a significant association between high NLR levels and mortality within 28 days, as well as a correlation between NLR and the severity of acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF). The study suggests that NLR could serve as a useful prognostic factor in clinical practice for alcoholic hepatitis patients. [Extracted from the article] |
