A recent study conducted at Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in China explored the effects of morroniside on cognitive dysfunction induced by sevoflurane anesthesia in aged mice. The research found that morroniside improved cognitive impairment by inhibiting neuroinflammation, modulating microglia polarization, and reducing hippocampal tissue damage and neuronal apoptosis. The study concluded that morroniside blocked the TLR4/NF-kB pathway, ultimately enhancing cognitive function in aged mice.
