Researchers from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the prognostic value of the glucose-to-lymphocyte ratio (GLR) in patients with solid tumors. Their study, which included 22 studies involving 9472 patients, found that high GLR was significantly associated with unfavorable overall survival and disease-free/recurrence-free survival in cancer patients. The research concluded that GLR can serve as an effective prognostic marker for individuals with solid tumors, particularly in liver, breast, and pancreatic cancer cases.
