Abstrakt: A study conducted in Waingapu, Sumba Timur District, Indonesia, explored the barriers preventing poor Indonesians from accessing the National Health Protection (NHP) program. Researchers identified factors such as lack of information, poor socialization of the program, ignorance of village officers, unaffordability, and confusion about registration responsibilities as contributing to the inability of residents to enroll in the NHP. The study concluded that urgent and effective education by NHP stakeholders and local government is needed to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations.
