A recent study conducted by researchers at Martin-Luther-University in Halle, Germany, focused on assessing the quality of cancer care in sub-Saharan Africa, specifically for female breast cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and prostate cancer. The study found that guideline-concordant treatment was documented in a subcohort of patients with potentially curable cancer, with significant disparities among countries and cancer types. The research concluded that treatment components within National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines should be prioritized to improve diagnostic services and increase the share of curable cancer in sub-Saharan Africa.
