Researchers at the Chinese University of Hong Kong have reported new findings on miRNA-based therapy, specifically focusing on the identification of miRNA transcription start sites (TSSs) and transcription factors' (TFs) regulatory roles. The study, known as miRStart 2.0, integrates various datasets to annotate putative TSSs for human and mouse miRNAs, with a deep learning-based model that outperforms existing tools in miRNA TSS prediction. This research aims to provide insights into gene regulation and disease mechanisms, offering a valuable resource for translational research and the discovery of novel therapeutic targets and precision medicine strategies.
