A study conducted at Virgen Macarena University Hospital in Seville, Spain, focused on the use of a new high-density porous polyethylene orbital implant for patients undergoing enucleation or evisceration. The research found that the OCULFIT orbital implants provided excellent patient satisfaction, good motility, and aesthetic appearance, with no complications reported after 1 year of follow-up. The study included 16 enucleated and 17 eviscerated eyes, and results showed high success rates in terms of anatomical and functional parameters. The small sample size suggests caution in interpreting the conclusions. [Extracted from the article] |
