Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Chiayi, Taiwan, explored the efficacy of zinc supplementation in managing primary dysmenorrhea, a common condition affecting menstruating women. The systematic review and meta-analysis found that zinc supplementation significantly reduced pain severity in women with primary dysmenorrhea, with longer treatment durations and higher doses showing enhanced efficacy. The research concluded that zinc supplementation is a well-tolerated and practical approach to managing primary dysmenorrhea, with doses as low as 7 mg/day of elemental zinc providing significant pain relief.
