Abstrakt: Researchers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign conducted a study on the effects of influenza A virus (IAV) on cognitive function in mice. They found that clemastine, an antihistamine with myelin promoting properties, could mitigate infection-induced cognitive impairment in male and female mice. While clemastine did not reverse changes to oligodendrocyte genes, it did improve neurocognitive impairment caused by IAV. The study was supported by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders And Stroke. [Extracted from the article]
