Researchers from Huazhong University of Science and Technology conducted a study on IgA nephropathy, a common kidney disease, to explore the causal effect of complement components. Using the Mendelian randomization method, they found a causal relationship between certain complement components and IgA nephropathy, suggesting intricate pathway interactions. The study provides insights for further research on the etiology of IgA nephropathy and potential directions for complement studies.
