Abstrakt: The r-process progresses in the neutron-rich region of the nuclear chart and can possibly encounter nuclei having exotic structures with deformations, halos, and bubbles. Incorporating these properties is essential while calculating reaction rates, which in turn can affect astrophysical abundance estimates. In this work, we overview the recent developments in the arena of the sensitivity of nuclear physics inputs to abundance calculations. We then explore how including proper structures of a few light and medium-mass neutron-rich isotopes can potentially impact the estimates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
