There has recently been growing interest in alpaca breeding in our country. Their number is now estimated at several thousand. Along with the development of their breeding, there was a demand for high-quality genetic material. One possibility for its introduction is embryo transfer. Historically, they were obtained by a surgical method similar to pigs. Then a non-invasive system was developed and is used today. This study outlines the generally requirements for the donor should meet. It then describes the methods of inducing superovulation with its effects, the technique of flushing of embryos, criteria for embryo quality evaluation and their suitability for transfer.
