Abstrakt: Determination of several light and medium REEs individually such as lanthanum, neodymium, praseodymium, samarium and gadolinium in high-grade concentrates prepared from Egyptian crude Monazite are achieved. These concentrates were firstly specified using SCAN-EDX analysis to identify the constituents of the analyzed rare earth elements. Complex formation study was carried out spectrophotometrically between disodium ethylene diaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and these trivalent rare earth elements "REEs" as Ln-EDTA for light and middle REEs. Different factors have been investigated including, EDTA-REEs molar ratio, pH of the LREEs/EDTA medium; time required for complex formation and initial concentrations of rare earth elements.
