A recent study conducted by the University of Mauritius focused on the coral reefs and fish populations in St. Brandon, an Indian Ocean archipelago, to assess the sustainability of fisheries in the region. The research identified distinct differences in benthic composition and fish assemblages between channel and non-channel sites, with varying levels of coral cover and fish biomass recorded. The study highlighted the importance of understanding these factors for effective coral reef management and sustainable fisheries practices in the Republic of Mauritius. [Extracted from the article] |
