Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted by the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, explored the relationship between Information Communication Technologies (ICT) ownership and intimate partner violence (IPV) among women in sub-Saharan African countries. The research found that women who owned ICT devices in Zambia and Mali were less likely to experience sexual violence compared to those who did not own such devices. The study highlighted the importance of promoting access to ICT among women as a means to raise awareness and provide support for coping with IPV. The findings were published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships and were supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). [Extracted from the article] |
