Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Foshan University in China focused on the occurrence and genotypic identification of Blastocystis spp. and Enterocytozoon bieneusi in Bamaxiang pigs in Bama Yao Autonomous County of Guangxi Province. The research revealed that both pathogens are common intestinal pathogens capable of infecting humans and animals, posing a threat to public health. The study found that zoonotic genotypes of Blastocystis spp. and E. bieneusi were prevalent in the pig population, indicating a potential risk to public health. The researchers emphasized the importance of further investigations to better understand the genetic characteristics and zoonotic potential of these pathogens in Guangxi Province.
