Abstrakt: Researchers from the University of Angers conducted a study on haplotype diversity and phylogeny within Alternaria alternata and A. arborescens species complexes from tomatoes. The study analyzed 72 tomato-associated Alternaria spp. strains from various countries, revealing genetic diversity and the occurrence of potential hybrids. The research, supported by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, concluded that major haplotypes described from tomatoes were shared among other hosts of origin. This peer-reviewed study provides valuable insights into the genetic diversity of Alternaria species affecting tomatoes. [Extracted from the article]
