Researchers at Shanxi Medical University in Taiyuan, China, have developed a novel multi-targeting nano-drug carrier, MGO-TCA-MTX (MTM), for the chemo-phototherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma. This carrier, constructed by functionalizing graphene oxide with Fe3O4, methotrexate, and triformylcholic acid, showed promising results in inhibiting liver cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. The study highlights the potential of targeted nanomedicine in reducing toxic side effects of cancer treatments. Funding for this research was provided by various organizations in China.
