Researchers from Ain Shams University conducted a study comparing the effectiveness and safety of topical Minoxidil 5% alone versus in combination with Dutasteride (either through microneedling or orally) in treating Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) in both males and females. The study involved 30 patients who were randomly assigned to three treatment groups and monitored for 16 weeks. The results showed that the combination of topical Dutasteride through microneedling with Minoxidil 5% had better results with fewer side effects compared to oral Dutasteride with Minoxidil 5%. The study concluded that both topical Minoxidil 5% alone or in combination with Dutasteride are effective and safe treatments for AGA. [Extracted from the article] |
