Abstrakt: This article focuses on the book "Chesterfield's Letters to His Son," which was first published in 1774 in England. In this book, Philip Dormer Stanhope, the fourth earl of Chesterfield, England, had carried on the correspondence with Philip Stanhope, his illegitimate son, during Stanhope's whole life, from 1738 when Stanhope was five years old until his death in 1768. Through the letters, the 4th earl worked to shape his son's performances at dinners, tea parties, and salons. When writing each of these letters, then, the 4th earl addressed two audiences: first Stanhope and second the group of important people who would interact with and judge Stanhope.
