Objective: This study aimed to assess the teachers' knowledge of first-aid management of epistaxis in educational settings. Methods: A cross-sectional study was prepared to assess teachers' awareness regarding the first aid of epistaxis inside their schools. The study was conducted in September 2022 in the Al-Madinah region of Saudi Arabia. Results: A total of 391 individuals were investigated. Among those, females were 52.4% and males were 47.6%. The current study findings revealed that the mean teacher awareness score was 5.2 ± 1.54 (Range 0-10) out of 10. Most teachers (n = 244, 62.4%) showed fair knowledge of first-aid management of epistaxis. Poor level of knowledge was observed in 118 (30.2%). Only 29 (7.4%) revealed a good level of knowledge, and 194 (49.6%) individuals had prior information about first aid management of epistaxis. Conclusion: The teachers in the Al-Madinah region of Saudi Arabia had insufficient knowledge regarding the first-aid management of epistaxis in educational settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
