Abstrakt: The most important indicators used by teachers when teaching students in elementary schools are related to pedagogical competence as well as basic activities for mastering basic teaching skills. The task of teachers is not only to convey or decide knowledge to children at school, but teachers also have the task of developing the personalities of the children they educate in an integrated manner. To become a professional teacher, you need testable indicators that can show your ability to teach students in elementary schools during the school year. Teachers develop children's mental attitudes, develop children's conscience, so that children are sensitive to issues of humanity and human dignity, and also develop children's life skills in society. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a survey method that aims to describe indicators of pedagogical competence, indicators of professional teacher competence, and determine the needs of teachers in developing their pedagogical competence. This research discusses indicators of pedagogical competence among professional teachers and describes the general situation of elementary school teachers' needs in an effort to improve pedagogical competence.
