Abstrakt: Increasing the stability of inductive power supply systems for implantable neurostimulators in relation to displacement of coils relative to each other is one of the most important tasks in improving implantable neurostimulators. Optimization of the geometry of the coil pair is one of the most attractive ways to solve this problem, as it allows the stability of the system to be increased without any increase in its complexity. We report here a study of the relationship between acceptable power difference and the relative sizes of the receiving and transmitting inductance coils, which showed that obtaining a power difference of ± 5–10% for expected displacements of magnitude up to the radius of the receiving coil requires use of a transmitting coil with a radius 1.2–1.4 times greater than the radius of the receiving coil. If the acceptable power difference is ± 20%, then coils of identical sizes and geometry can be used. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
