Abstrakt: Capoeta capoeta Guldenstadt 1773 is widespread in the Kura and Araks river basins. In Armenia, this fish species is mainly distributed in rivers, as well as in some reservoirs fed by rivers, where C. capoeta has adapted and created a lake population. C. capoeta, being considered a valuable fish species, is of great interest as an object of amateur fishing, and its subspecies, Lake Sevan, has industrial importance. The biological and ecological characteristics of C. capoeta in artificial reservoirs have not been sufficiently studied. In the spring reservoir, C. capoeta feeds mainly on Cladophora glomerata (L.) Kütz, the projective cover of which was 20%. Studies on the possibility of using C. glomerata as food by C. capoeta are also missing in the literature. The purpose of the study was to investigate in the reservoir biological and ecological characteristics of C. capoeta, as well as to evaluate C. glomerata assimilation possibilities by C. Capoeta.
