The article discusses the implementation of a Code Review facility in Magnetic Resonance in Medicine to promote the sharing of computer code alongside research data. Authors are encouraged to voluntarily share their code for review, focusing on ease of download/installation, quality of documentation, and functionality. The Code Review process has resulted in a significant increase in the number of papers including shared code, with 35% passing, 47.5% conditionally passing, and 17.5% failing the review. Authors who did not pass were asked to address identified errors, leading to improvements in code quality and usability.
