A recent study conducted at the University of South Australia explored the relationship between ultrasound diagnosis, symptoms, and pain scale scores in patients with uterosacral ligament endometriosis. The research found that patients with a history of endometriosis had significantly higher pain scores on transvaginal ultrasound compared to those without a history. There was a strong correlation between site-specific tenderness pain scores and patient symptoms, uterosacral ligament thickness, and nodules. The inclusion of pain scale information alongside ultrasound imaging showed promise in improving the ability to diagnose endometriosis. [Extracted from the article] |
