A recent study conducted at the University of Melbourne examined the metabolites present in mature human milk from women with and without gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The study identified 268 differentially expressed metabolites, with some metabolites significantly elevated or decreased in women with GDM. These findings suggest that disruptions in certain metabolic pathways may be linked to insulin resistance and poor glucose metabolism, potentially persisting postpartum. The research was supported by the Key R & D Program of Zhejiang Province, China, and Zhejiang Xinmiao Talents Program, China. [Extracted from the article] |
