Abstrakt: A study conducted at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center examined financial toxicity (FT) in breast cancer patients undergoing regional nodal irradiation (RNI). The research found that younger age, Hispanic ethnicity, lower income, and chemotherapy receipt were associated with higher FT scores, with the triple negative subtype being the sole clinical factor predicting severe FT. The study suggests that tumor receptor subtype may help identify breast cancer patients in need of early FT intervention. The findings were published in The Breast journal.
