Abstrakt: The article discusses research conducted at St. Louis University on the relationship between employment, mental health, and individuals on probation in the United States from 2002 to 2021. The study found that despite similar employment rates, individuals on probation faced higher rates of poverty and poor mental and behavioral health, including substance use. The research highlights the challenges faced by this population in escaping poverty and maintaining good health, despite their participation in the labor force.
