A study conducted by Shandong University focused on tailoring cell therapies for different metabolic phenotypes of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The research compared the efficacy of various umbilical cord-derived cell regimens in T2DM rats, showing that different infusion regimens had comparable effects on lowering blood glucose levels and suppressing glucagon secretion. The study highlighted the potential of personalized stem cell regimens for diverse T2DM metabolic phenotypes, offering improved treatment options for future clinical trials and applications.
