A study conducted at the University Clinical Center in Novi Sad, Serbia, explored the use of serum markers to non-invasively assess liver damage in patients with chronic hepatitis C and B. The research found that markers such as FIB-4 and the Forns index showed significant correlations with liver fibrosis, with FIB-4 being identified as a universal marker.
