Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University Indonesia focused on improving pediatric intubation efficiency by using a spiral endotracheal tube (sETT) manipulated with a flexible stylet. The study, which involved fifty children aged one month to six years undergoing surgery, found that the sETT significantly reduced total tube handling time and improved placement accuracy compared to standard ETTs. While the first-attempt intubation success rate and total intubation time did not show significant differences between the two groups, no adverse effects were observed. The researchers concluded that the use of a spiral ETT effectively enhances intubation procedures in children when using video laryngoscopy. [Extracted from the article]
